This is a great opportunity for manufacturers all across Canada to participate in some of the manufacturing and welding activities related to Alberta Oil Sands projects. Visit Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters at www.iCOSMO.ca to view some of the opportunities and to register.
CANADIAN WELDING ASSOCIATION JOURNALS
The Canadian Welding Association published two Canadian Welding Association Journals this summer. Both were intended to meet a specific need for CWA members.
The first, the summer 2006 issue (Submarine cover), was in the normal sequence of Journals that are published four times a year. Its theme was new technologies and power supplies. It was intended to highlight supplier-members products and services in advance of the Weld Expo Canada trade show later this month.
The second, the August 2006 issue (International Institute of Welding Special Issue), was published at the invitation of the Canadian Council of the International Institute of Welding to showcase Canadian welding technology and industry to delegates at the International Institute of Weldings 59th Annual Assembly and International Conference. This initiative was supported by CWA supplier members, who contributed both articles and advertising. This special issue contained 15 articles about our Canadian welding industry at all levels, from heavy manufacturing to education.
Six thousand copies were printed and distributed to CWA members, our standard mailing list and the international delegates at both the IIWs and the ISO meeting conferences that were held in late August in Quebec. We have had excellent comments from all recipients of the Journal.
