MEMBERSHIP CONTEST
The closing date for CWAs membership contest has been extended to November 1. This is an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of the chapters, help the association and win great prizes.
CWA AWARDS
At the Annual Awards Dinner, the CWA presents several awards at both the national and chapter levels. CWAs national awards, the Robert J. Jacobson Memorial Award and the Michael N. Vuchnich Award, will be presented at the dinner. The criteria for the awards are as follows:
- The Robert J. Jacobson Memorial Award honours an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to CWA Chapter operations.
- The Michael N. Vuchnich Award is presented to an individual who has done the most to advance the science, technology and application of arc welding in Canada in their career.
WSIB SAFETY GROUPS PROGRAM
The association is currently recruiting corporate members to participate in the Workplace Safety & Insurance Boards Safety Groups Program in Ontario. The program is being put together to help manufacturers and fabricators improve their health and safety programs and benefit from rebates on their workers compensation premiums.
CANADIAN WELDING ASSOCIATION JOURNAL
The next issue of the Canadian Welding Association Journal has been put together. The theme is welding in Albertas oilfields and oil sands. This issue will be mailed to members in early November. As was the case for the first issue, this issue will contain articles on the theme and technical papers.
The Journal will be published four times a year, beginning with the November 2003 issue. Should you wish to submit an article or learn about the editorial schedule, a Guidelines-for-Authors file is posted to the website on the Journal page.
