MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS

As has been discussed, CWA is working to obtain subscriptions to welding-related trade publications for all members. Two months ago, we included a subscription form for one of the publications in this newsletter.

This month, the addresses for all members were sent to Canadian Industrial Publishing. All members will now receive FabCanada magazine. If you do not receive FabCanada on a regular basis, please contact CIP at editor@cipmetalworking.com.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Canadian Welding Association’s Board of Directors has been working to ensure that the new association is flexible and responsive to members’ needs. The Constitution and Bylaws have been amended, and are now ready for member approval at the Annual General Meeting.

CWA-CWB ALLIANCE

The Canadian Welding Association and Canadian Welding Bureau have drafted a letter to 3500 welding practitioners across Canada asking them to join the Association. An increase in membership is important to continuing the work of the association.

GOLF

The Mike Cherry Memorial Golf Tournament will be hosted by the Toronto Chapter on August 28. This tournament benefits a scholarship fund for students in engineering at the University of Waterloo. Watch for further announcements.
