WELD EXPO CANADA AND THE CWA DREAM WELDING WORKSHOPS

Canadian Manufacturing Week and Weld Expo Canada, the trade show for Canada’s welding industry, will be held in Toronto on September 26 to 28 at the International Centre. This year, CWA’s supplier members are sponsoring a three-day conference on welding at Weld Expo Canada. Watch for details. CWA’s supplier members have generously donated many of their fine products to create three dream welding workshops: a MIG workshop, a TIG workshop and a cutting workshop. One workshop will be awarded each day to an attendee at Weld Expo Canada. Register at www.reedexpo.ca/cmw to attend the show.

MIKE CHERRY MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Mike Cherry Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Granite Ridge Golf Club on Tuesday, August 29. It supports the CWA’s scholarship in mechanical engineering at the University of Waterloo. Please register using forms on the Toronto Chapter webpage.

Welders from southern Asia and eastern Europe are available for posting in Canadian welding jobs. If you are interested in reviewing résumés of welders from either of these areas, please contact the national office.

As we previously mentioned, CWA is producing a magazine about Canada’s welding industry, to be distributed to delegates at IIW’s 59th Annual Assembly and International Conference in Quebec City at the end of August, and mailed to 4,500 welding professionals across Canada. We have a variety of quality articles for inclusion in this special CWA issue. If you would like to promote your products or services to an international readership, call CWA’s national office ASAP. Our advertising deadline is July 7.
