The voice of the welding industry in Canada
December 2007
HOLIDAY GREETINGS
Emad Assaad, president of the Canadian Welding Association, extends best wishes on behalf of CWAs executive, directors and staff to all for a happy holiday, a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.
CWA CWB GROUP AFFILIATION NEWS
At the end on November, the CWB Group provided a very generous subsidy to CWAs cash-flow. It demonstrated CWBs commitment to the affiliation process. The money will go a long way to ensuring that the CWA remains financially viable. It is much appreciated.
CWAs executive committee has been conferring with the CWB Group about the agreement that will affiliate chapters with CWA National.
The intent of the agreement is to define the relationship between CWA National and CWA chapters after CWA becomes a part of the CWB Group.
Good progress is being made on the agreement and on developing an update to the National Chapter Handbook. The Handbook will become an integral part of the agreement.
CHAPTER ACTIVITIES
Check out your chapters activities on CWA website. Chapters have worked hard to provide worthwhile information and networking sessions this winter. Dont miss them!
NEW MEMBERS
In the last month, the Calgary chapter has enrolled 22 new student members and the Halifax chapter has brought in eight.
Keep up the great work! Student members are CWAs future.
